Prayer Flag-June

This is my June prayer flag.  I like how it turned out.  I spared the recipient my lack of sewing skills and just drew this bee on.  I have signed up for the July one now and will probably change my theme.  I do want to make a bee one for myself though so we will see.

This bee is on its way to New Zealand.

My Mailbox Handmade Postcard

  The back of my postcard.

A photo of my real mailbox glued to bristol paper and cut out.
Front of the postcard.

This is where I went a little crazy :).  It is an interactive postcard.  Open it up and you see the inside of my real mail box!  I then put in a photo of my work case with an arrow that points to my slot.  You see, I don't deliver my own mail to my mailbox so the slot on the case is my daily mailbox.  But the real one is still on the driveway for those days I don't work.

Wasn't this fun?  It was my third hosted swap.

Something Funny About that Farm-#3 Pig Pen

Are Pearls Too Much?

These are my piggies in the pig pen.  One sports her crown and the other...well, something about casting pearls before swine?  I think they look divine!!

Create Your Moosterpiece

Ok, not even close, LOL.  Oh well, it is hitting the mail anyway.  It was fun to do but I wish I had some paint or something other than colored pencils to work with.  I'll probably try this again.

In case you can't tell, it is a pig.

Edit:  My partner described it perfectly...horrifying!  LOL.

Flo the Progressive Girl ATC

I love Flo.  I know a lot of people don't including my coworker but I like her.  I have some motorcycle insurance postcards my kids get with her picture on it. That is originally what I had planned to use for this swap until I came across this in the magazine I was scouring looking for cats for the postcard swap.  It was perfect.

Simple yet I love it.

Below is the one I received from GummiBear.  I'd not mind a whole series of Flo ATCs for my collection.  I may have to make more.

Homemade Postcard Challenge-Cats

This challenge required putting at least 12 magazine clipped cat pictures onto a postcard.  I don't get too many magazines with cats but fortunately didn't toss the magazines a co-worker gave me!  What I think was so surprising is all the orange tabby cats used in advertising.  My cat is an orange tabby and she is unusual in these parts.  Most are spotted and dark so an orange one is a surprise.

I titled this "Orange is the new Cat".  It is larger, 5"x7".  Of course I loved it when done and am having a hard time sending it off, LOL.  I'm such a sentimental fool...

Postage Stamp ATC

Title:  I can't hold my licker

This is my ATC for Postage Stamp ATC.  I didn't know what to do as the stamps I have available that are used are so common and not fun.  So instead I made the rest fun and used the plain old stamp.

Marilyn Monroe Rolo

Well, here is my first ever rolos.  They aren't as neat and tidy as I would like but for a first try I really love them!  I wanted to portray her as just a woman.  She has a quote that includes "just a girl" and I thought of putting that on there but Forever Young kept coming to mind.  Perhaps because it was my childhood friend's birthday recently and she was killed in a motorcycle accident two years ago.  So that song comes to mind during times like that.

I never really had a lot of interest in Marilyn Monroe beyond seeing a few movies and knowing she was a sex symbol etc.  She died when I was a year old.  But I got her book "My Story" and not only was she beautiful but she was a savvy woman who lived life on her terms as much as was possible.  The photos of her from the Milton H. Greene archives are breathtaking!

I also recently purchased three small framed prints of her for my nightstand from Etsy.  It just goes to show everyone has a story even someone we think we know...

Mail Cats of Liege Handmade Postcard

This is my interpretation of the subject of my hosted swap.  If I were a mail cat there are days this is what I would like to do with the mail.  Not so much normal mail but the hideously ugly boxholders we are sometimes subjected to.  Bonfire anyone??

Anyway, I made two of these because the first one is the card I accidentally zentangled the back of.  Oops.  Oh well, I liked it enough I thought of keeping it so now I can.

OMG I am so in love with these stamps!!  So much so I just ordered a coil (100) off of eBay since my own PO still hasn't gotten them in.  Wow wow WOW!!!!

Balloons Rolo

This is the fourth rolo I have done.  I had never heard of them before until I joined Swap-bot and then I still didn't know what they were.  Well, I saw a swap for a Marilyn Monroe one and remembered I saw a new in box rolodex at the thrift store the week before!  So I went back and sure enough it was still there!  So for $2.00 I got it and made the Marilyn ones...though they aren't finished yet.  Then this swap came up and I decided to do it.  It is my first torn paper anything and I think it turned out kind of cool.  I hope they like it.

Handmade Postcard: Freestyle Friday #13

After spending two hours creating a bird zentangle when I went to address the card I realized I did it on the back of my cat one!!  ARGH!!!  So not only did I have to redo the bird one (and after all that work, got a bit lazy and did this one instead) but now I have to redo the cat one too!!  I loved the cat one and thought "oh I don't want to mail this".  Well, now I won't have to and I'll create a new one...same idea but a couple added details.

ASA: About You ATC

Just for fun I created this off kilter ATC.  I kept looking at it and realized this is how I feel in my head!  Last September/October I had my third episode of vertigo but this one took me out of work for 2 weeks!  I am still not right.  I am working, I do my thing but in my head I feel off kilter.  I feel my brain is one step behind the rest of me...disconnected.  It is hard to put into words but this picture sort of shows it.  You can see it is me...just "off".

Fun Selfie Handmade Postcard

This is my first swap that I have hosted.  Today I sent out my card.  I didn't know what to do so I chopped up this photo of me and rearranged it.

Postcard for Postal Workers #2

These are the two cards I made from a cereal box and both are heading to Illinois.
